Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday signed two key agreements with Mexico that will align transportation and energy efforts on both sides of the border.
Under the first agreement, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and Mexico’s Ministry of Communications will work to collaborate on future border infrastructure projects to better facilitate trade between the two countries.
Texas and Mexico also have formed an energy task force to discuss ways Texas and Mexico can modernize and strengthen their electric and natural gas infrastructure; develop new resources to find energy solutions; and promote investments in energy projects.
Abbott was recently in Mexico City to meet with high-ranking officials on bilateral trade talks.
