Feds to Review Multiple Texas Natural Gas Pipeline Projects

FERC staff Thursday announced environmental reviews of several natural gas projects: Annova LNG Brownsville; Dominion Transmission Inc.’s Leidy South Expansion; Trans-Pecos Pipeline LLC’s Presidio, TX, Border Crossing; Texas LNG Brownsville LLC; and the Rio Grande LNG project.

Annova would be a liquefied natural gas production, storage and export facility in Cameron County, TX. Annova is a unit of Houston-based Exelon Generation (see Daily GPIMarch 11). Federal Energy Regulatory Commission staff plan to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the project. Comments are due by Aug. 24 [PF15-15].

Dominion’s Leidy South Expansion would entail construction of pipeline facilities in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. Gas moving on the expansion capacity would serve new and existing power generation facilities (see Daily GPIMay 15). An environmental assessment (EA) is planned [CP15-492]. Comments are due by Aug. 22.

An EA also is to be prepared for the Presidio County, TX, border crossing for the Trans-Pecos Pipeline, which would allow the transport and export of natural gas from the Eagle Ford Shale to Mexico (see Daily GPIJune 24). Comments are due by Aug. 24 [CP15-500].

An EIS is planned for Texas LNG Brownsville, an LNG liquefaction and export terminal to be sited on the Brownsville Ship Channel in Cameron County, TX (see Daily GPIJune 12, 2014). Comments are due by Aug. 24 [PF15-14].
