Feds Extend Comment Period on Pipeline

the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) extended the comment deadline for the Environmental Assessment scoping period on the proposed Trans-Pecos Pipeline. Administrative law requires at least 30 days between Notification of Intent (NOI), in its slowest form, to the comment filing deadline. The deadline has been pushed back from August 24th to September 4th.

“It has come to our attention that the environmental mailing list was not provided timely copies of the NOI. Therefore, notice is hereby given that the scoping period is extended to September 4, 2015.” Nathaniel J. Davis, Sr., FERC Deputy Secretary wrote in a statement released to all Trans-Pecos Pipeline, LLC Docket No. CP15500000 commenters

The 300+ individuals who initially submitted comments to FERC and are on the environmental service list must all be contacted by U.S. Mail for service on the docket, as well as all local and state government agencies, libraries, and local newspapers. While an electronic notification went out over 30 days prior to the deadline, many commenters did not receive their notification in the mail until this week.

“Individual citizens, landowners, and interested participants in the FERC Environmental Assessment scoping comment process benefit from the extension of the scoping period deadline.
